A few words from Ing. Arch. Jan Aulík on behalf of the entire team of Aulík Fišer Architects: 'During the creation of the architectural concept for Residence Laurová, we were aware that the location in question would be part of the transformation of a broader area of Smíchov into a modern residential quarter. Recognizing that the site's position at the intersection of Radlická Street with access to the surrounding natural hills presented an extraordinary opportunity, we aimed to design not just another 'apartment block,' but a genuine urban residence, well integrated into the street frontage, surpassing average construction output in architectural quality. The resulting smaller block form takes advantage of its exceptional position on Radlická Street, offering views of Vyšehrad, ample open space, and orientation towards the south, facing the forested hill of Kopce. In the final architectural form, we drew partial inspiration from Czech Cubism, aiming for a modern, substantial-looking house with a level of detail comparable to historical architecture.
